Trebol Soccer Club

Our Club's History

In 1995, through the efforts of Pancho Hansen and local parents, the Trebol Soccer Club formed and competed within the framework of the City of Lafayette's recreation program in Boulder County as a more competitive option for recreation players. In the spring of 1995, the Trebol Soccer Club began its split from the city as it became apparent the club's vision of "traveling teams", more focused training, and a higher competition level of play conflicted with the city's vision to provide every child a place to play. By the fall of 1996, the Trebol Soccer Club was independent of the City of Lafayette Recreation Department and was incorporated in February of 1997 with a Board of Directors. The club felt there was a need and a purpose to provide the children of Boulder County, and the surrounding communities, a place to play soccer in a healthy and nurturing environment.  In December of 1997 the club received its non-profit status as a 501c3 corporation.

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish and maintain an inclusive and competitive soccer program(s), and to provide an opportunity for families of all ethnic, racial or economic backgrounds to pursue an interest in soccer and to develop ideals of fun, sportsmanship and global citizenship. Trebol strives to attain its mission within the bounds of affordable fees for its participating families from Boulder County and the communities in the area. We strongly believe that absolutely no child should be prevented from playing soccer due to financial hardships. Therefore, our club offers scholarships, on a financial need basis, to those families in need. More than 14% of our players will receive some form of need based scholarship.

Our People and Community

The Trebol Soccer Club is driven by the volunteer efforts of hundreds of people throughout its local communities. Their efforts, and ongoing operations of the club, are led by Trebol's Key Staff, a group of highly-motivated, experienced, and respected individuals well-known in soccer circles.

Membership and Competition

The Trebol Soccer Club is located in Boulder County and is a member of the Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) which allows our teams to travel to various locations within the state of Colorado and southern Wyoming for our regular weekend games. Our developmental teams typically practice at least twice a week, with an occasional third day of practice during the week. Our younger developmental teams are also provided with Trebol technical staff sessions that focus on foot skills and ball handling, to develop their soccer foundation. Our competitive teams practice three times a week, including technical sessions with our on-staff coaches. Our games are scheduled through CSA and are typically played on Saturdays. Our teams compete locally throughout Boulder and Denver, regionally and nationally.
