Open Letters to Trebol Families

FEBRUARY 2008

Spring soccer in the Rockies, what a beautiful thing! Many Trebol teams are already practicing and it won’t be long before all of our teams kick into full action. We’re ready, hope you are too!

A lot has happened in the last couple of months. First of all, Trebol has secured a new office location (sort of).  As of March 1, the Trebol Soccer Club offices will be located at the south end of our current building located at 1196 Diamond Circle in Lafayette, Suite S. The reason for the move is because Trebol is growing! Karen Logan our Assistant Coaching Director has recently been hired as Trebol Manager. Karen has been involved with Trebol since its inception and has been instrumental in the success of the club during the last 12 years. She will continue her work with the City of Lafayette’s recreation programs, specifically the youth soccer and basketball programs.  In addition to her current responsibilities as Assistant Director of Coaching, registrar, field contracting and scheduler, she will be working with registration, the Colorado Shootout, and the general oversight of operations. If you know Karen, you know why we are so excited to have her on a fulltime basis!

With the addition of Karen, Trebol will also be offering office hours so that you can be assured that someone will be available to meet in person or by phone to answer questions and help with your soccer needs.  Beginning March 4th Trebol Office hours will be:  Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 - 1:00 pm, Friday 10:00 - 2:00 pm.  Please give us a call or stop on by. We’d love to show you around the office! And if you are interested in donating the following items we could really use them to complete the office! Donations to Trebol are fully tax deductible:

  • Small conference table (4x6 or circular)
  • Office chairs
  • Printer

This spring Trebol also welcomes Rob Johnson as a new trainer for our competitive girls’ teams. Rob is currently one of the coaches of Regis Men’s Soccer team and has worked with various clubs locally for many years. Rob holds an NSCAA Premier Diploma along with a United States Soccer Federation "B" License. Initially, he will be assisting with training sessions and attending games along with working with, Coaching Director, Pancho Hansen to host special clinics and drop-in games.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible efforts of Trebol’s Board of Directors. Just this month elections were held for 2008 officers.  Our board values your input and being available to all members. To contact any board member you can do so by going to Board of Directors .

Clinics and Drop-in Games for Competitive Teams. Please check with your coaches and team managers for special clinics and drop-in opportunities with our coaches throughout the spring. These are new opportunities for our club and we hope you like the. For competitive players and those players interested in taking the next step in their soccer development these are great additions to regular practices.

U9 and U10 Footskills. Once again Trebol will be offering footskill clinics for any U9, U10 players on Fridays beginning April, 4 at Blue Heron. The cost for the 8 session clinic is $40 per player. One hour sessions will be held at 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 5:00 pm. To sign up or get more information contact Alfie Hurley at [email protected] or 303.823.5872.

Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Trebol Soccer Club Week at the Colorado Rapids Soccer Academy for the week of July 14th- July 17th from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.  Make sure to sign up for this unique opportunity to have your kids train with current Rapids players and coaches through 12 hours of instruction in one week.  Please go to Rapids Camp for Trebol Players.

2nd Annual Colorado Shootout. Trebol’s 2008 Colorado Shootout will be held October 3 -5 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and Lowry Sports Complex. The cost will be $675 per team and once again, the first 100 teams signing up will be guaranteed to play “under the lights”.  Also, the tournament is expanding to include U17 and U18 girls teams.

OCTOBER 2007

Dear Trebol Players, Coaches, Families and Volunteers:

The Colorado Shootout proved to be a historic event for Trebol Soccer Club.Ultimately, it was the incredible enthusiasm and excitement demonstrated by not only the kids, but also the volunteers participating, that made this first annual soccer tournament a resounding success. Playing games “under the lights” at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park was clearly a unique experience that highlighted this memorable weekend of competition and fun.

Emails, phone calls, and personal testimonials regarding the tournament’s overall organization and friendly atmosphere continue to stream in on a daily basis. One club official offered the following “I was very impressed at how organized you all were. It was nice to be at a tournament that was run so smoothly. Great JOB!  All in all it was wonderful and my team will come back next year for sure.”

These remarks are a direct reflection of the dedication and commitment demonstrated by our tournament directors, Bill Turcotte and Sharon Collins, and the entire tournament committee. These remarks are also evidence of the positive impact made by each and every individual involved in making the Colorado Shootout a reality. From the “goody" bag stuffers and registration checkers, to the field marshals, morning set-up groups and evening clean-up crews, everyone participating in the event did an incredible job. In all, Trebol families provided more than 200 volunteers, who worked over 500 hours in a five day period, to make this tournament possible.

To everyone that participated in the Colorado Shootout, Thank You! You’ve proven once again, that Trebol Soccer Club is a unique organization made up of extraordinary people.

Thanks for setting a new standard in youth soccer!

Scott Scheifele, Executive Director
